Holiday guests mean more demand on every system in your home. Here's a quick checklist to make sure your AC, plumbing, and electrical are ready.
Air Conditioning
More people in your home means more body heat and more AC demand. Change your air filter before guests arrive and set the thermostat a degree or two lower than usual. If your system has been struggling or hasn't been serviced recently, schedule an AC check before the holidays.
Plumbing
More guests means more shower demand, more toilet flushes, and more kitchen use. Address any known leaks or slow drains before guests arrive. Check that your water heater can handle increased hot water demand.
Electrical
Holiday lights, extra cooking appliances, and additional devices all add to your electrical load. Make sure you're not overloading circuits. If you consistently trip breakers during gatherings, it may be time for a panel upgrade.
Generator
