A blank thermostat screen is alarming, but it’s often caused by something simple. Here are the three most common reasons.
Many thermostats run on AA or AAA batteries. If your display goes blank, try replacing the batteries first — it’s the most common and easiest fix.
Your HVAC system has dedicated circuit breakers. If one has tripped, it can cut power to the thermostat. Check your panel and reset any tripped breakers.
Loose or corroded wiring connections can interrupt power to the thermostat. If batteries and breakers aren’t the issue, a loose wire may be the culprit. This requires a professional to diagnose safely. Call Air & Energy at 941-778-0773.
