4 Ways to Care for Your HVAC System in Winter

Even in Florida, winter brings cooler temperatures — and your HVAC system still needs attention during the season. Here are four ways to keep your system running well all winter long.

1. Replace Your Air Filter

A clean air filter is the single easiest way to keep your HVAC running efficiently. A dirty filter restricts airflow and forces the system to work harder. Check it monthly and replace it every 1-3 months.

2. Check Your Thermostat

Test your heating function before the coldest nights arrive. If your system struggles to reach the set temperature or takes too long to heat up, it’s time for a service call.

3. Clear the Area Around Your Outdoor Unit

Make sure leaves, debris, and vegetation are cleared away from the outdoor condenser unit. Good airflow around the unit is essential for efficient operation.

4. Schedule a Tune-Up

Annual HVAC maintenance catches small problems before they turn into expensive repairs. Air & Energy’s VIP Program includes two maintenance visits per year. Call 941-778-0773 to schedule your winter tune-up.
